DECEMBER 1st, 1899.

Dear Mr. Frick:

We have your kind favor of yesterday. If you desire, we will credit your account with "Twenty-five Hundred Dollars ($2500)., for your Inness "SUNDOWN IN THE LANE." although, as you know, we would much prefer to sell it for your account, having still on hand your other fine painting by this artist and not having heretoforebeen very successful with his works. We are however always desirous of being agreeable and obliging and meeting you in every way that we can.

Very truly yours,

SIGNED M. Knoedler & Co.

To, MR. H. C. FRICK, Carnegie Building, Pittsburg, Pa.
