Dear Mr. Frick, Just this minute your letter is received announcing your safe and pleasant trip home which we were delighted to hear and that you were all well. I am very sorry that you still are forty pounds out to Carstairs but he seems to be very lucky matching, although he says he is out, he is still in London, that is to say he went back & will return here next Monday, Alexander Young wired saying he would be here also that day, so when they meet there will be a "crash" in ptgs & hope to land him something, but I am very glad to frankly tell

you that you have had the 'pick' specially in those two little "Daubigny's" which are "pearls" better even than the "ones" I am expecting!?!?... Those are ptgs. you will never regret having bought, although they might seem to you high in price, as they really are. they are such exceptionially SIC fine, that they will afford to you any amount of pleasure and you will be proud to possess such gems, which can hardly be replaced, you cannot get better there is a great of satisfaction in that, I am very glad you purchased the Troyon, "Cows & sheep in the meadows", although the clouds might seem hard it is that early summer morning effect. bright sunlight, the mist rising from the ground, counteracting on the upper atmosphere, make the sky somewhat heavy, we must admit also that an artist like Troyon, having painted all his life from nature, absolutely out of doors, must
