Chase is to communicate with him, and let me know exactly the position.

Before deciding, I would prefer that you see the ship and at the same time I would have a competent person along with us to examine it. There are a few insignificant defects, which I do not think amount to anything, but I would prefer to have expert opinion to confirm mine.

I understand that you expect to see me in Pittsburgh next Thursday. I will do my best to be on hand, and nothing, unless of the greatest importance will prevent me from going.
