LETTER

December 29, 1896.

Mr. H. C. Frick, Pittsburgh, Pa.

My dear Sir:-

On behalf of the Trustees of the Carnegie Fine Arts and Museum Collection Fund, I beg to thank you for your splendid gift to Theobald Chartran. The picture as soon as received was hung upon the walls of the galleries where it has since been admired by many thousands of visitors.

This acknowledgment would have been made sooner but for some necessary delay resulting from the organization of the Art Gallery and the subsequent extended absence of the Director of Fine arts in Europe.

Assuring you of the grateful appreciation of your generosity by both the Trustees and the people of this community, I am,

Very respectfully yours,

S. H. Church Secretary.
