M. KNOEDLER & CO., SUCCESSORS TO GOUPIL & CO., 355 FIFTH AVENUE, NEW YORK. CABLE ADDRESSES. KNOEDLER - NEW YORK. KNOEDLER - PARIS. PARIS OFFICE, 2 RUE GLÜCK. New York, Oct. 1. 95. H. C. Frick, Esq. Pittsburgh, Pa. Dear Sir, With thanks for your kind favor of Sept. 30. we enclose official receipt.

The items about the various artists are what we could find in various books. We shall be pleased to hunt for more & to add to them if possible. May we ask you, in what direction you looked for more, as we are most anxious to please you.

As to the Anton Mauve we are perfectly willing that you should keep it as long as you please & to exchange it for any other Mauve or anything by anybody else, if you should wish to change. You may find a subject to please you better, if you do not like this, but we do not expect anything better in regard to work & specimen. The longer you will keep it the less you will want to part with it.

We received many fine pictures since your last visit & shall be pleased to show them to you on your next.

Mr Chartran is expected by the end of next week & very soon Mr. Roland Knoedler will be among us.

Yours very truly M. Knoedler & Co. pr. L. F. Roos
