OFFERS $500,000 FOR PAINTING?

H. C. Frick Reported Bidder for a Rembrandt.

LONDON. Feb. 28 -- [Copyright Cable.]

-- It is reported here that H. C. Frick is the American who offered 500,000 for Lord Lansdowne's famous Rembrandt, "The Mill."

Lord Lansdowne has had several offers for this picture. P. A. B. Widener of Philadelphia went to $350,000, but without avail. It is said that Lansdowne has offered the National Gallery the option of taking the picture at the price Mr. Frick offers.
