Dear Sir:- Your beautiful Portrait of Lady Hamilton as Nature, by Romney, should certainly give you an interest both in her and in the painter. We happen to have two portraits of Lady Hamilton, both of which are remarkable. One is a "Baccante" by Romney, and is, we think, one of the most beautiful faces in English art. The other is "Lady Hamilton" by Sir Thomas Lawrence, painted after she returned to England in 1791. While forming quite a contrast to Romney's treatment, it has a captivating attraction of its own. We should be very glad to show you these examples.
