Angelo, and this bronze is considered one of the greatest of his works; still I am not quite sure whether you would care much about it, partly on account of the subject and also that it might not be suitable to your gallery. However, I can only tell you that it is a very wonderful and fine object.


I have only given you a description of just a few things which are illustrated, but I should like you to bear in mind that there are many very fine things which are not illustrated which would interest you very much. Amongst others a remarkably fine Gothic tapestry with gold ground of the 15th century by Van Orley. This is another masterpiece.


The illustrations of some of the ivories, silver work Limoges, Majolica, and some of the bronzes you will look at with pleasure, and I am sure it will also please you to read some of the comments and descriptions. Now, if any of these things do interest you, a line from you would be greatly appreciated by me. Anyhow I hope you will accept this copy of the catalogue with my compliments, and that its perusal will be to you a source of genuine interest.
