My dear Mr. Frick, I stopped in at Knoedler's this morning and learned that the frame for " A Rainy Day" will be finished in about another week. They will then ship the picture to you at Homewood. I think the new frame will suit it very well and will have a look at it before it is roped up. As the signature on the canvas shows, "A Rainy Day" was painted in 1897. It is similar in motif?, as I told you, to "The Rain" at the Metropolitan Museum. In "The Rain" the shower or storm is just passing off over the hill.
