PARIS, July 10th 1899
Dear Mr. Frick,
I hope Charlie will not feel offended because I write directly to you but I am so busy that I have not time to write to both. I finally got LeRoy in a transaction of several paintings to make a reduction on the Corot figure that you liked & we can agree to deliver it to you for twelve thousand five hundred dollars. If you are not perfectly satisfied do not hesitate to say so & I will keep it for ourselves as I do
END OF PAGE 1/2
not remember a finer figure piece by the Master in quality and colour & the subject is unusually attractive for Corot. I said nothing to my neighbor about your offer. I was given six ?? for yesterdays Auteuil races but as I did not go ?? back them & CAME ?? out ahead as only one passed the post first the LIKE ?? the temperature was a hot favorite.
With kind remembrances to all believe me
Very sincerely
