A Sixteenth Century Italian Portrait of a Lady; represented at three-quarter length, turned toward the right, with hands joined before her; she wears a dark, closely-fitting decollete gown with loose sleeves, which are further extended in width by huge puffs in light material turned back from each forearm; she is gazing towards the left and upon her head is closely fitting frilled cap; Around her neck are a jeweled necklace, and a fine chain presumably supporting a token. Dark background. 125,000-00

Bust in white marble, life-size, the head slightly turned towards the left shoulder, is covered with a perruque; the shirt opened at the throat, is heavily frilled, and emerges from the partly unbuttoned waistcoat; the collar and edge of the jacket are embroidered. Sighed: HOUDON F. 1791 beneath the right arm. Pedestal in white marble, Height: including pedestal, 32 1/2 inches. 48,000-00
